What should Arsenal do to be able to tie down Gabon international

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is keen to see Arsenal make some big moves before he puts pen to paper on a fresh deal, reports say.

The forward fired Arsenal to their 14th FA Cup trophy on Saturday and manager Mikel Arteta is desperate for Aubameyang to sign a new deal.

Aubameyang is likely to leave the club this summer if he refuses a new deal as his current contract expires next summer.

Arsenal’s failure to secure UCL have hurt their chances of keeping Aubameyang, but the Gabonese could still stay at the club.

Le 10 Sport claim Aubameyang is eager for his side to make some big signings in the transfer window and is ‘dreaming’ of the Gunners luring Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele to the Emirates.

Dembele, however, has zero interest in quitting Barcelona, even if the Catalan club are keen to raise funds to bring in new players of their own this summer.

Aubameyang is wanted by a number of clubs across Europe and has already told Arsenal his financial conditions to extend the current contract.

But recruitment is also a big factor for Pierre-Emerick and Arsenal have identified several signings that may please their key player.

Former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho, Lyon forward Moussa Dembele, Newcastle’s talisman Allan Saint-Maximin, Wolves striker Raul Jimenez, Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Lyon playmaker Memphis Depay are all under consideration at the Gunners.

Arteta, however, will have limited funds to spend this transfer window which is likely to hinder his efforts to overhaul his roster.

Arsenal chiefs are prepared to give into Pierre-Emerick’s demands, but could still be forced to deal with the exit of a forward.
