West Ham United leading race to sign £60,000-a-week Chelsea striker

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is attracting serious interest from fellow London rivals West Ham United ahead of the summer transfer window. England international came through the youth ranks but has had to bide his team to make it at the first-team level.

After successful loan spells away at Bristol, Swansea and Aston Villa, Tammy got his big breakthrough at Chelsea last campaign. With the Blues having been hit with a transfer ban, Abraham made the most of his chances, establishing himself as the first-choice centre-forward, although he did lose his place to Giroud in the latter parts of the season.

This summer saw Blues invest heavily in their attack with the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz arriving at the club. Plus with Olivier also doing well, chances have been hard to come by for the 23-year-old striker. Even then, the English centre-forward has managed to produce a tally of 12 goals and 6 assists from 30 matches in all tournaments.

But things have gotten worse for Tammy under the German boss. Indeed, under Thomas Tuchel, Abraham has featured just five times so far, although he did spend time out with an injury.

Nevertheless, murmurs surrounding his future have been doing the rounds for a while now, especially with the Blues eyeing a move for either Erling Haaland or Romelu Lukaku in the upcoming transfer window.

This could put Tammy further down the pecking order at the London club. And, it looks like West Ham United are set to pounce should things go in that direction for the 23-year-old striker.
