Man United attacker, Jesse Lingard stays firmly on the radars of West Ham United, who are now set to step up their pursuit of the forward ahead of the upcoming transfer window. England international had grown into a crucial figure for Man United but had slipped down the pecking order things quite a bit over the past couple of campaigns.
Having struggled for form and game-time, Lingard left Man United in winter this year to join the Hammers on loan until the end of the campaign and enjoyed a massive turnaround of fortunes.
Indeed, Jesse was one of the best players in the PL during the second half of the 2020/21 season, as he plundered nine goals and five assists in only 16 matches for West Ham United, playing an integral role in them achieving a top-six finish and qualification for European football for next campaign.
The 28-year-old winger’s form also saw him make a come back to the England national team during the previous international break in March, although the attacker was unlucky not to make the cut for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2020.
While he may not have been able to convince Gareth Southgate to call him up for the Euros, West Ham United are completely convinced that they want to sign him on a permanent basis before the next campaign.
The English attacker, for his part, is keen on moving on from Man United this summer and understandably so. The Englishman is behind Bruno Fernandes in the No.10 role and with the club moving close to signing Jadon Sancho, he is unlikely to get many opportunities in the wide roles either.
