UCL giants renewed interest in £185,000-a-week Arsenal striker

Alexandre Lacazette could ply his trade at Juventus at the start of the next campaign if things go to plan. The 29-year-old striker has been targeted by the Old Lady for some time now and the summer represents another opportunity for them to get their man.

Alexandre has been one of the Gunners most important footballers since he has been at the club, but his current deal will run out at the end of the next campaign. Arsenal hasn’t made any efforts to hand him a new one yet and it is now certain that he would leave the London club.

The report says that the Bianconeri faces competition from Tottenham for his signature. That competition isn’t one that the Italian giants can take seriously because the rivalry between both north London sides means that a move to Spurs will be very unlikely.

The London giants has relied more on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for their goals and that will make the decision to sell France international an easy one. Lacazette has stepped up in recent games for the club and has 8 goals from 20 league games this campaign.

Keeping him on another long-term deal might be too much for Arsenal, especially as they have Willian and Auba on big-money deals already. The report didn’t talk about the French striker’s valuation at Arsenal, but his remaining contract length could make things easier for Serie A giants.

Gunners, in recent times, have been heavily focusing on recruitment for their youth and reserve teams under Per Mertesacker who was appointed Arsenal’s academy manager in 2018. More recently, Gunners also signed Omar Rekik from Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
