UCL giants enter the battle for 22-year-old Liverpool long-term target

The Merseyside club are reportedly facing a new contest for the possible transfer of PSG star Kylian Mbappe. Bayern Munich are the latest top team to show an interest in signing France international, with the reigning European champions planning for life after centre-forward Robert Lewandowski.

Poland international has been a world-class performer for Bundesliga giants but will turn 33 later this year, so the Bavarians could do well to plan for the future, with the club are weighing up launching a big bid for him, and an attempt to agree on personal terms.

Robert won’t be easy to replace, but Kylian is one of the most exciting talents of his generation and could be a dream buy for the Bundesliga giants. Bayern Munich’s interest could now see Mbappe snub the interest of the Reds, which is undoubtedly a blow for the German manager and co.

Liverpool will soon need to think about replacing Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are both approaching 30 and cannot continue at their exceptionally high level for that much longer. Kylian could ensure the glory years stay at Liverpool for longer, though one imagines the German manager could also find alternatives.

It’s a loss for supporters of the PL in general, however, if we don’t get to see Kylian working his magic in English football. Reds themselves, should they actually be interested in signing the French winger, would only have ever considered it a pipe dream, rather a legitimate option in the transfer market.

There is certainly no guarantee that the World Cup-winning forward, contracted with Parisians until 2022, will leave the Parc des Princes, and if he does, Real Madrid are surely the most likely to secure his signature.
