Manchester United could sing a Greek international as Luke Shaw replacement
Louis van Gaal is considering a January swoop for Augsburg full-back Kostas Stafylidis. Manchester United were heavily linked with several defenders, for reinforcements at left-back after Luke Shaw broke his leg against PSV.
The England international is expected to be out for over six months and the Red Devils are keen to strengthen their defence. Stafylidis is a versatile defender who has an experience to play in England, as he was out on loan from Bayer Leverkusen at Fulham. The 21-year-old was impressive with the Whites and performed well in his 38 appearances at London club.
This summer Augsburg have signed Greek left-back from league rivals Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee, both Bundesliga clubs confirmed in official statements.
Stafylidis played a major role in the Greek squad at the Under-19 European Champions and won a runners-up medal. He has scored his first goal with Greece national team in a 4-3 home win against Hungary.

The 5”10” midfielder clearly struggling this term at Madrid as he made just 8 La Liga appearances without scoring a goal and making an assist. Kovacic is said to be unhappy with his lack of football and could be interested in to join Liverpool for more playing time.
The Croatian’s talent is not in doubt. There have been plenty of moments at Inter when he has left audiences gasping. He has been described as a great technician with excellent dribbling abilities, and is considered to be a versatile midfielder, having played in a different positions.
