The 29-year-old creative and technically gifted Arsenal star on rivals transfer radar

Manchester United will reportedly attempt to land Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil next month, with Jose Mourinho reluctant to wait until the summer.

Manchester United have developed as key footballers in the transfer fight for Arsenal ace Ozil, with Mourinho keen to add the Germany international to his team.

Mourinho earlier managed Ozil at Real Madrid, and the two have stayed close in the time since the Portuguese’s exit.

Many expect Manchester United to wait until the summer to land Ozil, where they can attract him to Old Trafford on a free transfer.

However, Spanish outlet Don Balon suggests Mourinho wants a deal done next month as he targets to battle Manchester City for the Premier League crown.

The Gunners are facing a significant dilemma next month.

As well as Ozil, issues also remain over the future of Alexis Sanchez.

The Citizens are believed to be ready to risk and sign the Chile international in January, despite failing to get a deal agreed back in the summer.

And that suggests. Arsenal could be about to lose two of their best footballers midway through an already turbulent season.

Don Balon suggest Mourinho is set to spend between £17million and £22m to secure his man.
