Stoke City Interested In Inter’s Jakub Jankto

Stoke City received a huge boost recently after long-term transfer target Jakub Jankto revealed that he is ready to move to the Premier League this summer. The Potters kept close tabs on him and his development recently and on numerous times they have sent scouts to watch him over. And with the player now open to a move to the Premier League, Stoke City are one of the Premier League outfits that are interested in him.

At 21, he is one of the most promising youngsters in his position in Europe but the question remains whether he is the right fit for Stoke City. Born and brought up in Prague, Czech Republic, the 21-year old has represented his country at every junior level and has already made a senior appearance, finding the back of the net in that game. He has been with Italian outfit Udinese for almost 3 years now and is currently the first choice midfielder at the club. He has 22 appearances in all competitions scoring 5 times for the Italian outfit and is a player who is growing in reputation with every game.

A central midfielder by nature, Jankto is an excellent passer of the ball and is someone who loves to hold the game and wants to dictate terms in the midfield position. His slick skills and tricks off the ball make him an unpredictable player but he loves to keep his game simple and relies on short passes.

He has shown signs of maturity at a young age and is capable of releasing his attackers with inch-perfect through balls which makes him an exciting player to watch. He is also well mastered in set-pieces and is a player who will improve not only the depth but also the quality of the squad at Stoke.

Mark Hughes has used a lot of combinations in the midfield this season with the likes of Joe Allen, Glen Whelan, Charlie Adam and Geoff Cameroon. The Welsh international Allen is expected to keep his place in the side next season and is currently the top scorer with 6 goals. Hughes wants to add another midfielder to support him and that name can well be Jankto this summer.

Jankto is not a player who plays with a defensive mentality and he will not act as a cover for the back 4, effectively at least. He still needs to improve on his defensive and aerial contributions but at just 21, he will only get better. Also wanted by the likes of Arsenal and West Brom, Jankto is surely a player who will be on top of Hughes’ wishlist.
