Red Devils started negotiations with €40m-rated La Liga defender

Man United are interested in signing Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo and prepare to make a bid in July when the transfer window opens again. Red Devils have problems in the back-line as Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young already up to 33, Matteo Darmian linked with several clubs and they need replacement.

Portugal international is the perfect choice in this situation as he had an impressive campaign and proved his worth one more time. Ole Gunnar will do everything to sign him this summer, but it will be difficult as Blaugrana aren’t going to sell such a prominent figure during the transfer window.

Nelson joined the Catalan club from Benfica in 2017 with a €36m deal. He is one of the best defenders in La Liga and unchanged figure for the club. In this season, Semedo played 46 matches, scored one goal and provided three assists in all competition.

It is an excellent result, and he can improve his consequences during the next campaign. Portuguese right-back has contracted with the Spanish club until 2022, and his release clause is around €40m. His price could increase during this June and become much more.

The 25-year-old defender is a regular member of the national team and also helped them to win the UEFA Nations League final which is already a big success for the footballer.

Red Devils had terrible results in this season as they finished the Premier League in a sixth position and kicked out from the Champions League and FA Cup. English club added several players last summer like Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, Diogo Dalot from Porto and Lee Grant from Stoke City.
