Red Devils leading race to sign £40m-rated Croatia international

Man United in pole position to sign Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic and prepare to make a bid in July when the transfer window opens again. Red Devils have problems in the midfield as Nemanja Matic already 30-year-old, Paul Pogba linked with several clubs, Ander Herrera decided to change the working place, and they need replacement.

Croatia international is the best choice in this situation as he had a fantastic season and proved his worth one more time. Solskjær will do everything to sign him this summer, but it will be difficult as Chelsea, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich also plan to make an offer during the transfer window.

There will be a battle for the footballer, and his price could become much more. Ivan joined the Catalan club from Sevilla in 2014 with the €18m deal. He is one of the best midfielders in Europe and a key figure for the club. In this campaign, Rakitic played 54 games, scored five goals and made ten assists in all competition.

It is an impressive result, and he can improve his consequences during the next season. The 31-year-old midfielder has contracted with the Blaugrana until 2021, and his release clause is nearly €40m. He regularly plays in the national team squad and also helped them to finish the 2018 Mundial in a second place which is already a significant achievement for the footballer.

Probably Croatian superstar will accept the correct offer from the Norwegian coach. Red Devils heavily linked with Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Lyon superstar Tanguy Ndombele and Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire.
