Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Mason Mount’s situation at London club, according to reports in Spain. England international has fallen down the pecking order at the London giants following the summer signings of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.
Mason started 32 matches in the PL last campaign, and although he has still managed three of a potential four starts this term, could find his role under threat as the campaign progresses. There were rumours that Mount was unhappy about the added contest for his place, although they have since been denied.
However, fresh reports from Spain suggest that the 21-year-old attacker will not be short of suitors if he does decide to pursue a long-term future away from London club.
Los Blancos are weighing up a possible move for the English playmaker. Florentino Perez watched England’s match with Belgium hoping to see Jadon Sancho, who he is considering as an alternative to top target Kylian Mbappe, but instead, it was Mason who took centre stage by scoring the winner.
Therefore, the Real Madrid supremo is now considering an offer for Mount in the future. However, the report warns that Mason will not come on the cheap. It is not clear whether La Liga giants would be able to guarantee Mount more regular game time than he gets at Chelsea.
Last month, Blues coach Frank Lampard insisted that Mason whom he also managed during a loan spell at Derby still has a big place in his plans. After describing the rumours that Mason wanted to leave as “strange”, he explained how he hopes the playmaker will raise his game to keep his place in the lineup.
