Real Madrid planning surprise move for 18-year-old Arsenal winger

Los Blancos are said to be interested in Gunners striker Gabriel Martinelli, who’s been on fire for the London club so far this year. Brazilian attacker, who joined Arsenal during the summer transfer window, has made a fantastic start to life at Emirates Stadium, bagging four in four games, with two of these coming in the Europa League.

Given that he’s still just 18, Gabriel looks like a footballer who could develop into a key member of London club’s first-team squad in the coming years, especially if his performances so far are anything to go off. However, he may not be at Arsenal for much longer should La Liga club get their way.

Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing the youngster following his bright start to life with Arsenal. The 18-year-old forward’s currently valued at nearly €10m, however, given how he’s played thus far this term, the London club will be willing to let him go for a measly amount like that.

Given that Los Blancos current first-choice centre-forward Karim Benzema is fast approaching the twilight years of his career, the La Liga club are going to have to think about replacing the Frenchman sooner rather than later. And depending on how he develops over the coming years, it looks like that man could very well be Brazilian starlet.

Real Madrid currently have Luka Jovic to pick from as a back-up for Benzema, however, should he still be at the club once Karim leaves, the Serbian striker will most likely be used as the Los Blancos’ new first-choice No.9.
