Merseyside club could reportedly be offered an opportunity to sign one of four Real Madrid footballers as the La Liga giants chase the transfer of Virgil van Dijk. The 28-year-old defender has been a world-class performer for Liverpool and could no doubt be an ideal long-term replacement for Sergio Ramos at the Bernabeu.
It stays to be seen if the Los Blancos can persuade the Reds to sell such an important footballer, but it might be that bit easier if the German boss was allowed to sign a quality footballer as part of the deal.
Madrid will, therefore, try offering Liverpool the opportunity to sign one of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Isco or Marco Asensio in exchange for Virgil. While van Dijk would be a huge loss for the Merseyside club, there’s no doubt, Bale, Modric, Isco or Asensio could add something to Klopp’s squad.
Although Luka is ageing and perhaps now past his peak, he stays a quality midfielder with experience in the Premier League and Champions League. Bale is also a pacey goal-scorer who could add depth up front for Liverpool, though Isco and Asensio don’t look particularly needed at Anfield right now.
Real Madrid started this campaign impressively as they are in a second place in the La Liga table. Los Blancos signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, Eden Hazard from Chelsea, Rodrygo Goes from Santos, Eder Militao from Porto, Ferland Mendy from Lyon and Areola from PSG.
