Los Blancos could look to make a shock move for Liverpool’s centre-back Virgil van Dijk should the Netherlands international not sign a new deal with the Merseyside club.

Merseyside club are understandably keen to tie down the imposing centre-back to a new long-term contract on improved terms, but confusion has been rife within the media as several conflicting reports left van Dijk confused about the whole situation.
The 28-year-old defender has stressed his happiness with life at Anfield and has not agitated for a new contract, but that has not stopped the Spanish club from attempting to lure the man-mountain to the Santiago Bernabeu, should the chance present itself.
Zinedine Zidane’s club are interested in acquiring the services of Dutch star. Liverpool are in talks with his agent and have offered new wages of €12.5m a year plus bonuses. La Liga giants are interested in him, but Virgil is not considering to leave.”
Phillipe Coutinho sale is an indication that the Reds could sell for the right price. As Philippe Coutinho in the past, a high bid could convince the Merseyside club to reinvest.’
The German manager is ‘likely to stand firm’ in his desire to keep van Dijk at Merseyside, and coupled with the player’s contentment with life at Anfield, a move to Spain looks unlikely at best.
