PSG given green light to sign £100,000-a-week Chelsea centre-back

PSG are stepping up their attempts to add Antonio Rudiger on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. A target for Barcelona and Real Madrid, the London giants centre-back, has been offered a €7m-a-year deal. Germany international is one of the hottest properties in the transfer market this year following a stunning 2021.

Rudiger was once deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard using him sparingly in the first half of the 2020/21 campaign. But the arrival of the German coach has completely turned his career around for the better.

Antonio has been one of the best centre-backs in the PL in the past year and has become a key figure for the Blues, for whom he has played 176 games to date. However, with his Blues deal winding down in the summer, Chelsea are in a spot of bother over the 28-year-old defender’s long-term future.

Such a situation has captured the attention of Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG. As for PSG, Ramos’ move from Los Blancos on a free transfer has not worked out as envisioned, while Kimpembe and Diallo face uncertain futures at PSG.

PSG will thus have to invest in a long-term partner for Marquinhos, with the German defender an option worth considering. To that end, the Parisians have offered the former Roma defender a €7m-a-year deal. While the terms fall short of Antonio Rudiger’s €12m per year demands, he might consider it.
