Premier League centre-forward refused to join Chelsea

Newcastle newly added centre-forward Yoshinori Muto talked about his relationship with Chelsea and remembered that the Blues made an offer for the player several years ago but he rejected it. Japan international preferred to stay in the Bundesliga as he wanted to get regular game time. The London club is a great place of course but there are always too many attackers and it is the hardest thing to win the battle and get a regular place in starting line-up.

Muto joined the Magpies in this transfer window from Mainz with a £10m deal. He will help the Premier League club to improve their consequences and fight for Euro competition zones. Last season Japanese striker played 21 games scored 8 goals and made 2 assists in all competition. This is an excellent result and he can also improve it with high-class partners. The 26-year-old is contracted with Newcastle until 2022 and his release clause is nearly £15m. He also named in Japan squad for the World Cup and helped his team to reach the playoffs.

Now Chelsea have Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud and this resource are enough for the manager. Blues always tried to add talented youngsters and loan them with different clubs. This wasn’t suitable offer for Yoshinori Muto who made a perfect decision.
