Red Devils footballer Nemanja Matic will reportedly leave English club next summer when his contract runs out with Inter and Milan interested in signing him. The 31-year-old midfielder joined Man United from Chelsea in 2017 and has so far played 88 matches for the club, scoring three goals and providing as many assists.
This campaign, Nemanja has played only 22 minutes on the pitch as Norwegian manager has benched him in favour of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay. Matic’s current deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer, and he will leave the Theatre of Dreams with Inter and Milan interested in signing.
Given the current scenario, unless either of Paul or Scott sustain a long-term injury, Serbia international could well be on the bench for most of the campaign. This could seriously hamper his opportunities of making Serbia’s playing XI in Euro 2020 provided they qualify. He played in the 2018 World Cup, but Serbia wasn’t able to reach the playoff.
A move to Serie A could help Serbian midfielder in terms of game time. Rossoneri have some pretty good footballers in midfield and the signing of Nemanja could add more depth to it. Lucas Biglia already 33-year-old, Tiemoue Bakayoko came back to Chelsea, and they need replacement.
Nerazzurri have already signed two players from the Red Devils so it won’t be much of a surprise if another one joins them next summer. Matic has previously played under Antonio Conte during his spell at Stamford Bridge, and his addition could certainly help Inter Milan’s aim of winning the Serie A.
