Olivier Giroud has popped up on the radar of Milan over a move in the summer transfer window. The 34-year-old centre-forward is ready to leave the London giants as a free agent, with a Bosman move on the horizon for him.
Olivier joined the Blues from Arsenal in winter 2018 and has since proven to be a handy asset for each of the bosses he has played under. While never a regular for Chelsea, Giroud has managed to deliver the goods whenever called upon, directly contributing to a goal every 107.5 minutes (39 goals and 14 assists in all).
However, France international is approaching the end of his time at Chelsea, with his current deal running out at the onset of the summer transfer window. Despite his advancing age, there is no shortage of interest in the Frenchman, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid, Roma, Lazio and Inter Milan, with Milan currently hot on his trails.
The interest from the Rossoneri makes a great deal of sense, considering Zlatan Ibrahimovic will turn 40 this year, while Mario Mandzukic has failed to make an impact since arriving in the winter transfer window. To make matters more concerning, Rafael Leao has blown hot and cold this term, while Ante Rebic has been inconsistent as well.
With that in mind, the World Cup-winning striker is a viable target to consider for Milan, despite the fact that the veteran centre-forward is 34 years old. Indeed, playing in Serie A should help the Chelsea centre-forward extend his career in the best possible manner while still possibly competing in the UCL.
