The London giants centre-back Fikayo Tomori is ready to join Serie A leaders AC Milan on a short-term loan with the Rossoneri able to activate an optional future £26m fee in the summer. England international has spent his entire career with the Blues after joining their illustrious youth academy all the way back in 2005.
After Fikayo made his way through Chelsea’s youth ranks, he enjoyed successful loan spells with Hull City and Derby County. However, now back with his parent club and struggling to force his way into the English coach’s first-team plans, Tomori seems ready to be heading out on loan to Italy’s top-flight.
The 23-year-old centre-back is ready to complete his short-term loan to Milan next week. The Rossoneri currently lead the Serie A by three-points over arch-rivals Inter Milan and will be desperate to claim their first domestic trophy since 2011.
It now appears that in an attempt to aid their title ambitions, Milan are ready to add the English centre-back to their defensive options. It is claimed that Blues young centre-back will fly out to Milan in the next few days, presumably to complete his medical and any necessary paperwork.
It’s added that Milan hope to complete the signing in the coming days, with the side close to strengthening the back-line after losing the promising Matteo Gabbia to a serious knee injury.
Fikayo Tomori quickly broke into the Three Lions squad after some encouraging signs for the Blues once he returned from Derby last campaign, but the turn to 2020 marked a nightmare for the centre-back.
