Milan eager to sign £60,000-a-week Liverpool centre-forward

Milan will make Liverpool centre-forward Divock Origi an offer to join the Rossoneri this summer. Belgium international is out of contract at the end of the campaign and is ready to leave Liverpool in search of more playing time.

Serie A giants are looking for younger options up front with Giroud, 35, and Ibrahimovic, 40, their main two strikers this campaign. The Italian club have already spoken to Divock’s team and have requested the striker sign up with them for next term.

Over the years, Origi has scored important goals for Liverpool, including a stoppage-time winner with Everton in the PL in 2018. The 27-year-old striker also bagged two for the Reds in their 4-0 comeback triumph over Barcelona in the UCL in 2019.

However, since arriving at Liverpool in 2014, the Belgian striker has spent the majority of his career as a bit-part footballer. Often coming on off the bench in his early years, the Belgian has featured only six times in the PL this campaign.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Luis Diaz in winter has further curtailed his chances at Anfield. As it stands, the former Lille striker is sixth in the pecking order behind Salah, Mane, Jota, Firmino and Diaz. Speaking after Origi scored in 2-0 win against Everton last month, the German coach predicted the striker to ‘explode’ at his next team.

In eight years at Anfield, Divock has played 174 games and scored 41 goals. Origi has lifted the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup with Liverpool.
