Middlesbrough in the battle to sign 22-year-old Liverpool forward

Middlesbrough are battling with Aston Villa, Leeds United and Rangers for the signing of Liverpool forward Ryan Kent. U20 England international has been linked with a move to Boro, stating that Middlesbrough would be looking to secure the winger on a loan move.

Boro are facing competition from Aston Villa and Leeds United, who are both keen on Ryan. Scottish Premiership runners-up Rangers are also keen on resigning Kent, who spent a campaign on loan at Ibrox last year.

The 22-year-old attacker Scotland’s PFA Young Player Of The Year award while at Rangers, last campaign, however, is contracted at Anfield until 2022. Middlesbrough ready to spend considerable money on the forward during the summer transfer window.

Merseyside club are therefore holding out for £12m for the forward, with Liverpool not need to sell him in a rush in the summer transfer window. Leeds United have had an approach turned down by Reds, with Rangers keen to retake the English attacker on loan.

Ryan has already had a spell in the Championship, playing for Bristol City in the 2017/18 campaign. He featured 27 times for the Gers last campaign, scoring six goals and contributing four assists. Kent has a vast potential and can become a top-class forward if he continuous improvement.

Liverpool started this season fantastically as they won all matches and leading the Premier League table. Merseyside club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Sepp van der Berg from Zwolle, Harvey Elliott from Fulham, Spanish goalkeeper Adrian and English shot-stopper Andy Lonergan.
