Manchester United officials are on the verge of completing the deal for Mourinho

Who will replace Louis van Gaal is the major theme of the British press speculations.

According to sources, Woodward is unhappy with the club’s current conditions. Louis van Gaal’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and the club won’t renew the terms.

Several World-class manager such as Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone have been already linked with Manchester United.

As per the latest reports Jose Mourinho is the primary target for the Red Devils. Former Chelsea boss is just a step away to replace the Dutchman.

The Metro revealed: “Manchester United are in talks with Jose Mourinho’s representatives – and he could take over at Old Trafford soon, according to reports.”

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen praises Mourinho, believes he will be the ideal replacement of LvG: “They’re quite similar teams (Man Utd and Chelsea),” said the former United striker, who lifted the Premier League title at Old Trafford in 2011.

“They’re built on a DNA of attractive football. He’s (Mourinho) got a big chance of going to Manchester United. It’s going to be Giggs or Mourinho next.”
