Manchester United have been in contact with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s entourages but could face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea for his signature.
The Red Devils have secured UCL football for next season and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to splash the cash over the course of the transfer market.
The club are now expressing interest in Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic.
Manchester United have a long-standing interest in the midfielder and, according to French outlet Foot Mercato, had contact with his representatives as recently as last week.
The Red Devils are dreaming of signing Milinkovic-Savic, but they could face competition from the Blues and Spurs.
It is claimed that both London outfits are keen on Milinkovic-Savic, as are Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Red Devils would like to team the Serbian up with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford, but so far Lazio have not received an attempt to test their resolve.
Milinkovic-Savic has helped I Biancocelesti to secure Champions League football for next campaign and the Rome giants are likely to want a substantial sum this summer if they are to allow him to leave.
Elsewhere, Manchester United have moved to deny reports in Portugal that a deal for striker Raul Jimenez has been agreed.
Broadcaster RTP reported that Jimenez is “on his way” to Old Trafford this transfer window, getting his dream move after admitting he’d be open to the idea of the move.
However, the Manchester Evening News reports United have informed them there is ‘nothing in the report’. They state that while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of the star, the club are no longer prioritising a new No 9.
