Man Utd head coach Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea that he wants to finalise the transfer of Nemanja Matic within the next 48 hours.
The Red Devils manager is growing frustrated over his club’s transfer activity and planning to complete his second summer within days.
According to the Sun reports Mourinho believes that Premier League champions are ‘stringing him along’ with Serbian midfielder Matic and is now demanding an answer from Chelsea.
Antonio Conte’s side are close to signing French midfield star Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco. However, a deal has not yet been confirmed.
Man Utd head coach is looking to sign a new defensive midfielder with Tottenham Hotspur star Eric Dier has also been linked with Stamford Bridge switch.
And while he has missed out on the French star, a deal for England international midfielder Dier could be equally as difficult given Spurs’ strong negotiating position.
Elsewhere, Portuguese manager’s pursuit of a new centre-forward took another turn as reports recently claimed that the Red Devils are planning to hijack Chelsea move.
Matic currently earns £90,000 A-week salary at Stamford Bridge and Manchester United could offer the 28-year-old midfielder a huge pay rise.
