Man United started talks with €35m-rated Serie A goalkeeper

A move to Man United could be on the cards for Wojciech Szczesny, who is tipped to leave Juventus in the summer. Poland international’s uncertain future has now reportedly put the Red Devils on red alert and a possible come back to England could be on the horizon for the Bianconeri shot-stopper this summer.

It appears Man United might be looking at Wojciech, as a possible replacement for David de Gea, who has been linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams after struggling with form and consistency. His exorbitant wages have also caused problems for the club, in terms of finances.

In Szczesny, Red Devils would find themselves an experienced shot-stopper, who has featured in 131 competitive games for Old Lady while winning 52 caps for the Polish national team. Perhaps more importantly, the 30-year-old goalkeeper has the exposure of playing in English football, having spent nine professional campaigns at Arsenal.

The Polish goalkeeper, therefore, could be a viable target for Red Devils, especially from a sporting perspective. He has the experience as well as the winning mentality that might ultimately prove beneficial for the Norwegian boss.

Szczesny can also be the perfect competitor for Dean Henderson next campaign as Man United brace themselves for the possible departure of de Gea. As for the Bianconeri, Wojciech’s possible departure could create a massive void in the goalkeeping department considering their second choice ‘keeper in Gianluigi Buffon is 43.

As mentioned earlier, Milan custodian Gianluigi Donnarumma has been identified as the club’s desired target this summer. But quite interestingly, the young Italian has also been linked with a move to Man United.
