Man United started negotiations with 25-year-old Serie A centre-back

Red Devils are reportedly hopeful of sealing a smart transfer deal for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer. Man United could do with bolstering at the defence for next campaign, with Harry Maguire not entirely convincing since his big move from the Foxes last summer.

Harry would probably benefit from a better partner than Victor Lindelof, and Slovakia international could be perfect at Theatre of Dreams after showing some fantastic form in his time at Inter Milan. Skriniar is now supposedly being targeted by the Red Devils in an exchange deal, with Chris Smalling or Alexis Sanchez on offer to the Nerazzurri.

That could be the fine business for the Red Devils if they can pull it off, with Chris and Alexis unlikely to be crucial footballers for the Norwegian manager’s side any time soon.

The duo could perhaps be tempting options for the Nerazzurri, however, with England international impressing on loan at Stadio Olimpico this term, while Chile international has been on loan at San Siro and recently showed some improvement despite initially getting off to an underwhelming start.

It’s claimed that Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Milan, and wanted to bring him to Man United during the 2018 summer transfer window. The 25-year-old centre-back had been put forward as a possible swap for Tanguy Ndombele, with the Nerazzurri keen to lure him over to the defender this summer.

However, the Slovakian defender allegedly doesn’t plan to leave Inter Milan and isn’t attracted by Spurs given that they don’t have UCL football. Milan views Inter as the club for him right now and in the future, so Jose Mourinho will have to look elsewhere for a new defender.
