Man United renewed talks with £40m-rated Belgian centre-back

Red Devils still want to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld. Eric Bailly linked with several clubs, Phil Jones is in terrible form, and their back-up is necessary. Man United tried to sign Belgium international, who has an excellent season, last summer but the deal failed.

Norwegian manager is planning to make a bid during the transfer window. Chelsea are also interested in signing him, and there will be a real battle for the footballer. His price could increase and become much more. Toby joined the English club from Atletico Madrid in 2015 with a €16m deal.

He became an unchanged figure for the club and played numerous matches amazingly since joining. In this season, Alderweireld already made 35 appearances in all tournament which is an impressive result for the footballer. He can do much more during this campaign.

Belgian centre-back has contracted with the Spurs until 2019, and his release clause is nearly €40m. He is a regular member of the national team and also helped them to finish the 2018 World Cup in a third place which is already a big success for the defender.

Red Devils have a good result in the Premier League as they are in a fifth place in the table and have a big chance to finish this season in top 4. Man United have to face Wolverhampton this weekend in the FA Cup quarter-final. Ole Gunnar has an excellent opportunity to win his first title with the English club during this season. Solskjær also wants to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.
