Man United renewed interest in €70m-rated La Liga goalkeeper

Jan Oblak’s future has once again become a contentious issue, and the goalkeeper could be playing his final campaign for Atletico Madrid, with Man United and Juventus among the potential suitors waiting on wings to make an approach in 2022.

Since the 28-year-old shot-stopper’s deal at Atletico Madrid expires on June 30, 2023, Los Colchoneros may be forced to sell their no. 1 next summer if they cannot reach an agreement to extend his remain.

It is understood that Jan has a €100m termination clause in his current contract, and Atletico Madrid are going to demand a transfer fee in a similar region. This is not for the first time that the Red Devils have been linked with a move for Jan.

Back in May this year, there were rumours of a possible swap deal with David de Gea going the other way. PSG were the other party keen, but they ultimately decided to sign Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Since arriving from Benfica in 2014, Slovenia international has established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world under Diego Simeone.

A colossal presence between the sticks, the Slovenian goalkeeper boasts a phenomenal record for Atletico Madrid, having preserved 163 clean sheets while just surrendering 219 goals from 313 matches.

Man United already have two excellent shot-stoppers in David de Gea and Dean Henderson. The Red Devils also re-signed Tom Heaton to be the third-choice goalkeeper over the summer.
