Man United moved a step closer to complete £40m transfer of Nemanja Matic

Manchester United are stepping closer to a deal for Chelsea star Nemanja Matic, with the chance of the transfer being secured and sealed by the end of this week, as reported by the ESPN.

After a frustrating effort to bring Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive midfielder Eric Dier to Old Trafford, Man United manager Jose Mourinho has switched his attention to 28-year-old Matic.

The Portuguese manager believes that the Red Devils are in need of a player to fill the holding role, a midfielder who can create a play from deep, and with the suggested £40m asking fee for a many Premier League winning footballer, Mourinho is looking at a decent deal for the Serbian.

The Stories have earlier circulated regarding Matic’s possible to the Manchester side, but it appears as it has now stepped up a gear.

Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko is a target for west-London side Chelsea; if he were to make to move across to The Pensioners, it would open the door for Matic to last years’ Europa League winners in a deal that Mourinho wishes will be secured before their flight to the States.
