Man United keeping tabs with €50m-rated Serie A centre-back

Red Devils held talks with Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli and ready to compete with Chelsea for the footballer. Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to strengthen the back-line, and his primary target is Italy international who had a great campaign and proved his worth one more time.

Victor Lindelof linked with several clubs, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are in terrible form, Eric Bailly has a severe injury, and they need replacement. Norwegian manager will do everything to sign him this summer, but it won’t be easy as Blues also prepare to make an offer during the transfer window.

There will be a contest for the player, and his price could become much more. Romagnoli joined the Italian club from Roma in 2015 with a £25m deal. He is one of the perfect centre-backs in Serie A and a captain of the club. In this season, Alessio made 41 appearances and scored two goals in all tournament.

It is an impressive result, and he can do much more with top-class teammates. The Italian defender has contracted with the Rossoneri until 2022, and his release clause is around £50m. He regularly plays in the national team which is already a big success for the centre-back. Probably the 24-year-old defender will accept the correct offer from the Norwegian coach.

Man United heavily linked with Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, Sporting attacker Bruno Fernandes, Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Barcelona footballer Ivan Rakitic.
