Bayern Munich fear Kingsley Coman will reject a new contract at the club because Man United are willing to offer him a double-your-money £260,000-a-week deal to move to Theatre of Dreams.
The 24-year-old winger has two years to run on his contract at the Bundesliga giants but the Bavarians are keen to tie him down to an extension given the attacker is entering the peak of his career.
Kingsley has been a long-term target for Man United and the Norwegian manager has made no secret of his desire to add a right-winger, with the club failing to land top target Jadon Sancho last summer. Coman has helped Bavarians to five consecutive Bundesliga titles and he scored the only goal as they beat PSG 1-0 in the 2020 UCL final.
However, the German giants are increasingly worried that the silence from France international’s representatives suggests that a move to Theatre of Dreams is in the making. Red Devils are willing to offer the French winger hugely more than the £140,000-a-week he earns in Bayern, with a £260,000-a-week figure touted.
Borussia Dortmund wanted £120m for Jadon Sancho last summer but the club may be forced into lowering that asking price should they miss out on the UCL places.
Red Devils were willing to offer closer to nearly £80m, with a string of add-ons that would move the deal closer to £90m. England international stays keen on moving to Theatre of Dreams. The hope is to have spectators back at matches by the start of next campaign, which would ease the financial strains on clubs.
