Man United keep a close eye on €70m-rated Serie A midfielder

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is once again starting to become a hot property in the market heading into the summer transfer window. The Lazio midfielder is being chased by the likes of Real Madrid, Man United and PSG. Serbia international has come leaps and bounds since joining the Biancocelesti from Genk in the summer of 2015.

Now regarded as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, despite blowing hot and cold at times, Sergej has been a mainstay for Lazio over the last half-a-dozen years while also drawing comparisons with Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba for his style of play.

The ongoing campaign has been a reasonably productive one for Milinkovic-Savic, who has a tally of 7 goals and 9 assists in 26 Serie A matches. His continued progress has meant that some of the biggest clubs in the world have still been keeping a watchful eye on his displays, with the suitors including Real Madrid and Man United.

As for Red Devils, they are in a precarious situation over the future of Paul Pogba once again. While recent reports have suggested that Pogba could remain put at the Theatre of Dreams, the notorious Mino Raiola continues to stir the pot time and again over his client’s status at the club.

On top of that, Nemanja Matic is approaching the end of his illustrious career, having become a bit-part player at Man United, who have, in turn, been linked with several midfielders, including Lille star Boubakary Soumare. Sergej, though, will be a like-for-like replacement for Pogba, if the Frenchman calls it quits with Man United.
