Man United have recently announced the appointment of Ralf Rangnick. The German manager is ready to take over the Red Devils on an interim basis, and he already plans to raid his former club, RB Leipzig, by targeting Amadou Haidara in the upcoming winter transfer window.
It is apparent that Ralf Rangnick has identified the midfield department as a major weakness of the Red Devils. And it appears Mali international has emerged as the perfect man to shore up his options in the middle of the park, although Man United may face stiff competition from Newcastle United in the pursuit of the RB Leipzig midfielder.
Formerly of RB Salzburg, Amadou joined RB Leipzig in winter 2019 for a fee of nearly €20m. Haidara was brought in by the German tactician, who was also the brains behind the capture of Arsenal target Tyler Adams in the same window.
The 23-year-old midfielder played half a season under the new Man United interim manager, featuring in a total of 12 competitive games. Since then, the Malian midfielder has gone from strength to strength, becoming a massive midfield asset for the German club.
In fact, the African midfielder played his 100th competitive game with RB Leipzig during the weekend encounter with Bayer Leverkusen. Amadou himself had expressed his desire to play for the Red Devils in the past and may prefer a reunion with Ralf Rangnick at Theatre of Dreams.
The quality that Amadou offers make him an appealing target for the Red Devils, who are anticipating the possible sale of Jesse Lingard in winter.
