Man United keep a close eye on 21-year-old Ligue 1 defender

Man United are reportedly working on a winter deal for Monaco right-back Vanderson. The Red Devils are believed to be determined to bring a new defender to Theatre of Dreams next year, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Erik ten Hag.

Dalot is firmly Man United’s first-choice right-back, with Diogo making a strong start to the campaign, contributing two assists in eight games in all tournaments. However, the Red Devils want to boost their options in that area of the field, and the Brazilian defender has been identified as the leading target for Man United.

The report claims that the Red Devils’ football director John Murtough has already spoken to the 21-year-old right-back’s representatives about a switch to Old Trafford. Vanderson is said to be willing to leave Monaco next year to make the move to United, although it is unclear whether the Ligue 1 side would be prepared to sell him in winter.

The South American defender made the move to Les Monegasques from Gremio in winter and has now represented the principality side on 33 occasions, contributing two goals and three assists in the process.

The Brazilian has played 11 games in all tournaments this term, meanwhile, seven of which have come in the league, while he has featured twice in the group stage of the UEL. The Dutch manager recently hinted that his club could be active in winter.
