Man United are ready to reignite their pursuit of Norwich City defender Max Aarons in the upcoming winter transfer window. U21 England international is, despite his age, an experienced footballer with 137 first-team games for the club, scoring five goals and assisting 13 more.
Max was a two-time nominee for the EFL Team of the Year and was also the EFL Young Player of the Year in 2019. In his second campaign in the PL, Aarons is already a seasoned performer and could be on the verge of taking the next step in his career.
Adept in both attack and defence, the 21-year-old right-back is a two-way defender well versed in the modern role of a full-back. The Red Devils already have the defensively solid Aaron Wan-Bissaka in their ranks and the talented Diogo Dalot at right-back.
Dalot is lacking in offence, and the latter has failed to showcase any semblance of consistency. The Norwegian manager is keen to have two footballers he can depend on in each position.
Man United do have two in Wan-Bissaka and Dalot, but the fact that they are after the English defender could indicate that the latter’s position may be far from secure. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is keen to bring in a footballer who can compete with Wan-Bissaka rather than replace him.
A right-back was on the agenda earlier this summer, with Kieran Trippier a prime target. Man United loaned out Brandon Williams to Norwich City this summer and could use the teenager to land Max Aarons.
