Brighton centre-back Ben White is reportedly open to joining Man United as he continues to be linked with a summer move to the Theatre of Dreams. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a couple of productive campaigns in which he has enhanced his reputation, first for Leeds in the Championship and this campaign at boyhood club Brighton.
While Brighton have struggled this term and still face a relegation battle when the PL resumes following the international break, Ben has produced several great displays. His form has caught the eye of several top-flight clubs and Red Devils have been linked with a summer move as they look to strengthen Man United’s defensive options.
The centre-back partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof has attracted criticism this campaign and Red Devils are considering signing a new partner for £80m signing and club captain Harry Maguire.
Recent reports have even suggested Harry Maguire is keen for Man United to sign White this summer, although the club are also eyeing Raphael Varane and Pau Torres. As the English centre-back continues to be linked with a move to the Old Trafford, he is open to the idea of leaving Brighton for the Red Devils this summer.
Brighton, though, are reluctant to lose one of their prized assets and will only be tempted to sell by a fee in excess of £35m. Leeds United attempted to sign the 23-year-old defender last summer after his loan stint at Elland Road but Brighton rejected several offers for his signature.
Man United are currently second in the PL, 14 points behind champions-elect Man City and face Ben’s Brighton this weekend.
