Man United join race to sign 6 ft 0 in Ligue 1 defensive rock

Man United and Milan are keen on signing Facundo Medina over a move in next summer’s transfer window. Marseille and Atletico Madrid are also courting the Lens centre-back. Argentina international has established himself as one of the most reliable centre-backs in France since joining Lens from Talleres in summer 2020.

At the same time, his progress has also helped him break into the Argentine national side, although Medina is yet to become a regular feature at the defence for La Albiceleste. To date, Facundo has played 39 games for the Ligue 1 club, chipping in with his four goals in the process.

The 22-year-old defender’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest teams in Europe, including Man United and Milan, keen on signing the centre-back. This is not the first time that the Argentine defender has been linked with the Red Devils.

Man United hold a long-standing interest in the South American centre-back, although that was majorly before they signed Varane in the summer. However, despite the arrival of the Frenchman, Man United stay in need of strengthening their defence.

That is because Maguire has been abysmal this campaign, while Bailly has been linked with a move away from Man United after becoming a bit-part footballer this campaign. As a result, the Red Devils have been in the battle for a defender, with footballers like Jules Kounde on their radar.
