Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has been ‘seduced’ by the prospect of a temporary move to Man United, according to reports in Spain.
The Norwegian coach is determined to add a striker to his ranks for the new season and the club are exploring deals for free agent Edinson Cavani and Serbia international, who has struggled to live up to expectations since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu in June 2019.
Advanced discussions have taken place with Luka’s camp and Los Blancos are open to a loan deal as they are keen for the striker to regain his confidence elsewhere. The Spanish club are confident he will come good despite a tough start to his career in the Bernabeu.
Negotiations are progressing in the right direction as a temporary switch to Red Devils would appear to suit all sides and Jovic is ‘seduced’ by the idea of playing for Man United at the Old Trafford.
However, the report suggests Serie A giants Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma are still in the hunt for Serbian star’s signature. Roma came closest to reaching an agreement for the striker before Red Devils entered the picture. Man United are aware that they would have to pay Luka’s €8m salary to have the striker until the end of the campaign.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been playing Anthony Martial as a No.9 in recent months and Jovic’s possible arrival could see the French centre-forward move back out wide again, with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood also vying for places in the Red Devils front-line.
