Man United have moved one step closer towards securing the services of Jadon Sancho. They have apparently agreed on personal terms with Borussia Dortmund winger, although the Bundesliga outfit are persistent on their £82m asking fee for their prized talent.
Red Devils were linked with a move for Jadon one year ago, but they were unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £108m. Their waiting game, however, saw them miss out on the services of Sancho, although that might change this summer, especially following yet another fantastic season in the Bundesliga.
Indeed, Jadon has been involved in a total of 20 Bundesliga goals this past campaign. After initially making a slow start to the season, the English forward’s brilliant turnaround under Edin Terzic was a major reason behind Borussia Dortmund’s late push for the UCL finish as well as the triumph in the DFB Pokal.
Borussia Dortmund, though, are now in a precarious position after overseeing a significant loss in the 2020/21 financial year due to the pandemic. Although the club has the resources to keep hold of both their star footballers in Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, they will not stand in the way, should any of them opt to leave the Signal Iduna Park.
Die Schwarzgelben, in fact, have been eyeing potential replacements throughout the summer. They were recently linked with a move for Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi, although they might face stiff competition from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich. The possible sale of Jadon could go a long way in helping them recover from their financial losses this past year.
