Red Devils have begun talks with Blaugrana over a deal for Ivan Rakitic. Croatia international has started only one match this campaign and has played a total of 186 minutes across six games in all tournaments. The Catalan club are now open to selling him in the winter transfer window.
And Man United have already registered their interest with the Spanish giants and have opened initial negotiations with Barcelona. The report claims that Blaugrana are demanding at least €40m for Rakitic. Inter are ready to rival Red Devils in the race to sign Ivan and have also reportedly made contact with the La Liga club.
Earlier this week, the 31-year-old midfielder admitted he is unsure over his future at Camp Nou and suggested he would seek a move away if his situation does not improve. ‘It’s tough because I want to play and not just be part of the team,’ Croatian midfielder said.
‘I will do everything possible to change my situation. ‘I have two years left on my deal, and there’s no better place to play than Barcelona, the best club in the world, but I need to play and not just enjoy walks around the city and by the sea. ‘I spoke with people at the club, everyone knew I had other options.
‘I want to fight so that the team see me ready to deliver on the pitch. ‘I want to thank the fans for the affection they showed me this weekend, but if nothing changes, we will have to sit down and talk about my situation again.’
