Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus has urged Red Devils target, Jadon Sancho, to reject a big-money move this summer and continue developing his game with the German club instead.
The 20-year-old winger is believed to be Man United’s top target this summer, with the Premier League giants prepared to break their transfer record, currently the £89m they spent on Paul Pogba, to land him.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Jadon, who seems increasingly likely to come back to the Premier League having hit double figures for both goals and assists in the Bundesliga this campaign.
But Marco says Jadon, who has only just turned 20, does not need to be in any rush to join a European powerhouse and can continue his rapid ascent at Bundesliga giants. ‘Jadon is an outstanding player and will remain in demand by many clubs.
That is a fact,’ Reus said. ‘He’s now playing at an even higher level than last year and would be extremely valuable in achieving our goals. I would advise him to remain at Borussia Dortmund for another year, maybe two. From my point of view, there is no better place for him at the moment.
‘Afterwards, he can take the huge step as an even more complete player, having developed further in peace here as a regular starter.’ The English attacker has scored 17 goals and assisted 19 in 35 matches in all tournaments for the German club this campaign, marking himself out as one the outstanding young talents in world football.
