Man United believe they can strike another bargain deal this summer with the hope they can sign Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez for £45m. There is increasing confidence at Man United that the Red Devils will secure a deal to add Raphael Varane this summer, with the club hopeful of agreeing on a fee lower than €50m.
Man United are also exploring the possibility of bringing in another midfielder with Paul Pogba’s future still unresolved. Red Devils have long been interested in Niguez, but the footballer’s desire to remain at Wanda Metropolitano and a £129m release clause have ensured they have stayed admirers from afar.
Spain international’s situation has changed this summer with Saul eager to take on a new challenge. Atletico Madrid are also prepared to let him go for the right place. Man United believe a deal could be done for £45m. Niguez could be a candidate to replace Pogba at the Theatre of Dreams with Varane still to sign a new deal with the Red Devils.
Paul Pogba is into the final year of his current contract with his agent Mino Raiola holding talks with PSG over a possible move. Man United are now exploring midfield targets amid the uncertainty over the French centre-back’s future with West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice and Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga also linked.
The Spanish midfielder is also among those.
