Man United given green light to sign No.7 Serie A star

Man United are close to signing Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini in this transfer window. Italy international joined Roma from Sassuolo in 2017 with a £10m deal. In this season Lorenzo played 43 games, scored 3 goals and made 5 assists in all competition.

Roma have too many midfielders as they signed Pastore, Cristante and Coric during this summer and Lorenzo planning to leave the club to get regular game time. United need midfielders and Pellegrini is the perfect option. 22-year-old contracted with the club until 2022 and his release clause is nearly £26m. On the other side, Roma will try to keep the player as Lorenzo is a very talented footballer and Giallorossi need important figures for the next season. Italian club qualified in the Champions League and they want to improve their results. Roma reached semifinals in this season and sensationally kicked out Barcelona from the Euro competition.

Man United already signed Porto right-back Diogo Dalot, Shakhtar midfielder Fred and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant. Mourinho also in talks with Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but due to huge price transfer hasn’t done yet. Pellegrini will be the main target for the Red Devils during the summer.
