Real Madrid would be willing to offer James Rodriguez in exchange for Paul Pogba. France international was heavily linked with a move to La Liga giants during the summer and failed in an attempt to force through a switch to the Madrid after publicly declaring he wanted to leave the Red Devils.
Man United stood firm in their £180m asking price and will reportedly stick to the valuation when the winter transfer window opens as Paul again seeks to leave. Spanish giants stay interested in World Cup winner, and club president Florentino Perez is set to offload Rodriguez.
The 28-year-old attacker has struggled to live up to his price tag in his five years at Los Blancos and his agent Jorge Mendes is keen to move his footballer on. UCL giants are prepared to sell James and see the attacker as a potential makeweight in a deal to sign Pogba.
Rodriguez’s exit could come in winter, although Real Madrid have a big task on their hands to convince Red Devils to part ways with French star mid-way through a campaign. Christian Eriksen is another target for the Los Blancos, and the prospect of signing him in winter is viewed as much more likely than Paul, due to Spurs issues in recent months.
Wolverhampton star Ruben Neves is also an option for La Liga giants, and Colombia international’s agent has a close relationship with the Premier League club as a trusted adviser. Pogba has been out of action since the end of September with an ongoing ankle issue and is not expected to return from injury until December.
