Red Devils reportedly stay interested in a transfer deal for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and could be in a strong position to get the signing done on their terms. It seems like Serie A giants don’t have a particularly strong negotiating position despite setting a higher price for Senegal international to leave this summer.
The report explains that Kalidou is wanted by Red Devils for nearly £63m, and he’s previously been linked as one of Man United’s top targets. Koulibaly would certainly be a fine partner for Harry Maguire in the Norwegian manager’s side, and the Italian club may eventually have to accept letting him go on the cheap.
The Serie A giants look to be under pressure to sell footballers this summer, and the 29-year-old centre-back makes sense as a big name who could bring in a decent amount of cash. Man United also linked with Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar and Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.
Although the Senegalese centre-back has not had his best campaign this term, he stays one of the finest defenders after years of world-class displays in the Italian top flight, as well as a UCL level as well. Red Devils would surely view Kalidou as good value for money if he did move for nearly £63m and could get back to his best at Man United.
Napoli’s exit at the hands of the Blaugrana on Saturday confirmed that Kalidou Koulibaly will not be playing in the tournament next campaign unless he moves clubs. With this season now over, there is more time to think about a possible switch.
