Man United enter the battle to sign No.7 World Cup winner

Man United are preparing a mega-contract offer for Ousmane Dembele as they plot to lure him away from Barcelona on a Bosman move in 2022. France international has been with the Blaugrana since the summer of 2017 when he arrived as a replacement for Neymar, who had left for PSG.

Dembele, however, has had a difficult time in Barcelona, having had to struggle with many injury and fitness issues that have prohibited the forward from realising his full potential. Indeed, Ousmane has missed close to 100 matches for the Catalan club during his time at Barcelona while playing only over 100 games so far.

The 24-year-old winger is yet to kick a ball this campaign after having been sidelined during the summer at the UEFA Euro 2020 but is expected to come back to action in the coming weeks. However, as things stand, it stays unclear as to how long the French attacker will stay a Blaugrana footballer.

World Cup winner has entered the final year of his deal with the Blaugrana. And despite having held talks over a new contract, an agreement is yet to be reached, leaving his future up in the air.

Several top teams from around Europe have been alerted by the situation, including Man United. It is no secret that Man United tried hard to sign Dembele in the summer of last year and were close to completing a loan deal until the Blaugrana insisted on him signing a new deal before leaving, which led to the switch not materialising.
