There are so many transfer talks going around that it’s impossible to tell what’s actually true, but it’s interesting to see that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is being linked with a move to Man United. Red Devils were thinking of making an offer for France international, while it’s not completely impossible that it could happen.
From the Red Devils’ point of view, N’Golo could be the perfect signing, his energy and defensive abilities would be the excellent complement for Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in the midfield, while his pace would make him an upgrade on Matic.
From Blues point of view it does look like Kante won’t be an automatic starter next campaign, so it would make sense to cash in if they receive a decent bid. The London giants are now looking to make a move for Declan Rice, so any sale of the 29-year-old midfielder would probably depend on that going through.
Lampard usually lines up with three in midfield but you have to presume that Havertz and Rice would be automatic starters, while the staying spot would probably go to Kovacic.
Blues and Red Devils have allowed footballers to move between the two footballers in the recent past, so it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on this if Blues do manage to sign Declan Rice.
Red Devils already have Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Fred at their disposal in midfield, plus summer-signing Donny van de Beek from Ajax. The World Cup winner is under a deal for another three years at Chelsea after penning a new contract in November 2018.
