Man United determined to sign €25m-rated Italy international

Man United are prepared to focus on cheaper deals this summer. They have failed to qualify for the next campaign’s Champions League and will thus have a heavily reduced transfer budget in the upcoming transfer window. In this quest, they have identified Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli as a potential addition.

The Red Devils have had a disappointing campaign and are ready to finish outside the top four in the league table. Destined to not play Champions League football next campaign, Man United may find it hard to attract top targets and are thus focussing on Bosman moves.

Italy international has emerged as a possible target as the defender’s deal with the Rossoneri is ready to expire this summer. But the Red Devils are not the only club in the market for Romagnoli, with Barcelona, Newcastle United and Real Madrid also showing interest in the defender.

Alessio has been associated with Milan since the 2015/16 campaign and has played 246 games for them. His deal with the Rossoneri runs down this summer, and he will be free to join any club on a Bosman deal. The 27-year-old defender has had an injury-affected campaign with Covid-19, further limiting his games.

The Italian centre-back has thus fallen down the pecking order and looks ready to depart from Milan this summer, and the Red Devils have emerged as a possible destination.
