Man United closely monitoring €40m-rated Serie A midfielder

Inter Milan are in for a busy transfer window, with many of their first-team players facing an uncertain future at the club. Marcelo Brozovic is among the footballers, who could on the verge of a move away from Inter Milan, with his contract at the club expiring at the end of the next campaign.

Although Nerazzurri are determined to tie Croatia international down to a new deal, they could be forced to cash in on him in the summer, due to fears over losing him for free. It has put Man United on alert, although the PL giants could face stiff contest from Italian giants Juventus.

Part of Inter Milan since 2015, Marcelo has been an indispensable figure in Antonio Conte’s midfield unit. Brozovic has brought instability, control and composure in the middle of the park, helping Inter Milan close in on breaking Bianconeri’s hegemony over Serie A in the ongoing season.

The 28-year-old midfielder’s displays have not gone unnoticed in Europe, either, with Real Madrid, in particular, notably being linked with a move for the footballer, earlier this month. Red Devils interest is hardly surprising either, as the PL giants prepare for life without Nemanja Matic.

The ageing midfielder is already in the final phase of his career, while the Norwegian boss is also likely to enter the market for an upgrade over Fred in the double pivot.

It makes the Croatian midfielder a particularly interesting candidate given his vast experience at the highest level of football, having been a midfield stalwart in Serie A for quite some time now. Marcelo has already featured in 238 competitive games for the Nerazzurri while winning almost 60 caps for the Croatian national team.
