Liverpool started negotiations with No.7 South American attacker

Merseyside club started negotiations with PSV footballer Gaston Pereiro and planning to make a bid in July when the transfer window opens again. Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen the front-line, and his primary target is Uruguay international who has an excellent season and proves his worth one more time.

Adam Lallana is in terrible form, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has a severe injury, James Milner already 33-year-old, and their replacement is necessary. Gaston joined the Dutch club from Nacional in 2015 with a £7m deal. He is one of the best attackers in Eredivisie and a key figure for the club.

In this campaign, Pereiro already played 32 matches, scored 11 goals and made seven assists in all competition. It is a fantastic result, and he can do much more with high-class teammates. Uruguayan player has contracted with the Lightbulbs until 2020, and his release clause is around £20m.

His price could increase during this season and become much more. The 23-year-old attacker is a regular member of the national team which is already a significant achievement for the footballer. Reds will do everything to add him this summer, but it will be difficult as PSV aren’t going to sell such a vital footballer during the transfer window.

Merseyside club added several players last summer like Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Fabinho from Monaco, Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City and Alisson Becker from Roma. Liverpool also linked with Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz, RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, Lyon superstar Nabil Fekir, Real Madrid player Isco and Sporting footballer Bruno Fernandes.
